Three of the Best Coffee Shops in Oman

Unlock the true potential of coffee with a visit to three of the best coffee shops Oman has to offer. My husband and I, as coffee connoisseurs (wanna be’s), have had the opportunity to taste various blends from all over the world, but nothing compares to the Philippines coffee we tried in Oman. Each sip was a revelation, leaving us looking at each other in amazement, saying "Is yours as good as mine? Because this is extraordinary!" We could not help but dream of taking home jugs of coffee from these three shops or at least I could not help it.

Out of all the coffee shops we visited in Oman, these three stood out as truly exceptional. They offered a unique and unparalleled flavor profile that we have never tasted before. Usually, I have to add a lot of sugar to my coffee, but these blends were so perfectly balanced that I did not even think about it. If you are a coffee enthusiast or just love coffee, do not miss out on these three must-visit shops.

Fort Cafe

Located in Muscat at the Muttrah Fort

Address: JHC8+6R4, Al Bahri Rd, Muscat, Oman

Perched atop the historic Muttrah Fort, The Fort Cafe offers coffee lovers a truly unique and unforgettable experience. For non-Omani visitors, a small entry fee of 2 OMR grants access to the fort and the cafe within. But trust us, it's worth it for the breathtaking views of the town and shoreline, especially as the sun sets.

The staff at The Fort Cafe are warm and welcoming, and if you're lucky, they'll even take the time to chat with you and share some local insights. The shop is new and modern, but they also take care to honor the fort's rich history, by offering books on the shelves for you to read and learn more about the place.

During our visit, The Fort Cafe was still in their soft opening phase, but we're confident that it will soon become a must-visit destination for coffee enthusiasts tourist in Oman.

Cafe Kadm

Located: In the Bahla Souq near Bahla Fort

Address: Bahla, Oman

Step inside Cafe Kadm and be transported to a different time and place. After getting lost in the maze-like Bahla Fort, we walked to this hidden gem nestled within the Bahla Souq. Although all the other shops were closed, Cafe Kadm welcomed us in with open arms.

We were seated in one of the private, themed sitting areas, perfect for enjoying a cozy conversation with friends or loved ones. The atmosphere is truly unique and relaxing, taking you back in time as you sip on their specialty coffee, which was so delicious I almost forgot to take a picture.

The decor is impeccable, with each of the four private sitting areas having its own theme. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience all the more enjoyable.

Cafe Kadm is not just a coffee shop, it's an experience. Many reviews have deemed it as one of the best places to drink coffee in the region and it's easy to see why. From the atmosphere, location, decor, to the coffee and desserts, everything is perfect. Don't miss the opportunity to visit this one-of-a-kind coffee shop.

Bait AlSabah House at Heritage Inn & Cafe

Located: Nizwa

Address: طريق نزوى عبري ولاية نزوى Birkat AlMooz، 611, Oman

Experience the authentic local coffee culture at the cozy cafe located upstairs at the Heritage Inn. My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Bait AlSabah House, nestled between the ancient Birkat Al Mouz ruins, and the cafe proved to be a one of the highlights of our trip.

Not only did we find locals frequenting the cafe all night, but we also saw many early birds grabbing a cup of coffee and exploring the ruins. The cafe offers a variety of specialty coffees that will satisfy any palate, from hot to cold. Each one we tried was delicious, and we honestly could not pick a favorite.

The staff were incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable, they helped us navigate the menu and gave us recommendations on the different coffees. One of the best things about the coffee we had is that we didn't have to worry about adding sugar or experiencing any stomach discomfort afterwards. The milk used was easy on our stomachs, and the coffee had the perfect balance of sweetness and flavor.

If you are looking for a true local coffee experience, do not miss the opportunity to visit these cafes. And if you discover any other must-visit coffee shops, let us know by email, we'd love to hear about them!
